In order to be added to the waitlist, please submit an application by following the instructions below. You will be contacted by the administration officer to proceed with the enrollment process IF capacity allows.
NOTE: Shortlist Selection Notices are being sent out to those on the Waitlist. Please click the following link to access the Pre-Enrollment Familiarization Presentation prior to responding to the Notice. Response is required or your child’s spot on the Waitlist will be forfeited to the next child in line.

In order to join the Cadet program, the youth must be
12-18 years old and,
Have a Canadian ID (Birth cert., passport, VISA, PR card, etc.)

Steps to Join Us!
Step 1: Online Application
A parent or guardian must visit www.canada.ca/join-cadets to complete the Online Application
Step 2: Register
Click “Register Now!” and follow the instructions
Step 3: Search Unit Number
Search for Unit Name: 142 Mimico
Enter the parents’ email address and click “Start New Application.”
Step 4: Enter Information
Ensure all information entered on the form is correct. Pay special attention to:
Both (if applicable) parents/guardians
OHIP health card information and/or private health insurance
Step 5: Next Steps

Copy of Legal Documents (If applicable): If there is a court decree/judgment, or separation agreement for custody or visiting rights that restrict access to your son/daughter/ward by another party.
Uniform
Upon enrollment, all new Recruits are expected to attend training in “Business Attire”:
Clean and ironed white dress shirt with a collar
Black tie
Black pants
Black shoes
Hair groomed and held back away from the face
Over the course of their Recruit Training (8 weeks), cadets will be measured and uniform parts ordered. If the cadet’s attendance and training are progressing as expected, they will be issued their uniforms around the time they are officially Sworn-In to the unit.
Uniforms remain the property of the Department of National Defense, and must be returned to 142 Mimico in good condition when the cadet leaves the unit.
