FEBRUARY RECAP

February has been a busy month for cadets! With many fun events and a lot of training! February was a month of Range and Promotions!

ZONE 10 MARKSMANSHIP COMPETITION

The 142 Range team represented the squadron at the Zone 10 Marksmanship Competition! They competed against 18 other teams from various squadrons in the NGTA! They team represented the squadron well! We also had a cadet who won metal, congatulations for all your hard work!

LAC PROMOTIONS

As the new cadets have gone through training, when they reach a certain amount of time in the program, they become an Leading Air Cadet (LAC), the first rank you earn after getting sworn in. There were many cadets who were promoted, and they’re going to do nothing but good work, keep up the good work!

CO’S PARADE

To end of the month, the cadets participate in the monthly CO’s parade, having the opportunity to showcase their skills, dress, and deportment to the CO and others!

MARCH EVENTS

MARCH ON: DRILL COMPETITION- March 7

The drill team has been working really hard this year to create a routine, and perform a routine- competing with other squadrons. They have done really well in the past years, and will do nothing but the best for the competition. Good luck drill team!!

Fundemental Air Cadet Area Directed Activity (ADA)- March 22

The Cadets will have an opportunity to participate in a Fundemental Air Cadet Area Directed Activity at Centenial College Downsview, where the campus specializes in Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics Maintenance, Aircraft Maintenance Management, Avionics Maintenance Management, and Pilot Training.

This is an exciting opportunity to build off what was done last year at KF Aerospace and to learn more about the Aerospace Industry where there will also be an opportunity to meet cadets from other squadrons as well!

 

The ADA will include:

• Guided campus tours

• Aircraft and aviation facility showcases

• Customized, hands-on workshops

• Guest speakers

• Pizza lunch for all participants

 

Details are as follows: 

Date: March 22, 2026.

Timings: 1000-1400hrs

Dress: FTU or warm comfortable clothing. Dress for the weather including warm jacket, gloves, hat, if required.

Items to Bring: Must bring pen, backpack, water bottle.

Location: Centennial College – Downsview Aviation Campus.

MERIT REVIEW BOARDS- MARCH 30

Review boards are interviews that cadets will have to go through to prove why they deserve a promotion. Cadets who have obtained high ranks have done a lot for the squadron and have contributed to making it a better place for everyone by wanting to help other cadets. These boards are hard and require a lot of studying, but the cadets applying for these promtions will do amazing! Good luck to everyone doing their merit review boards- study hard and showcase the leader within you!
