CJCR Dress Instructions

New cadets and civilian staff who do not have uniforms shall dress in civilian clothing equivalent to the dress of the day. For example, new cadets shall wear a white collared, long-sleeve, dress shirt with a tie, dark dress pants, and dark shoes when the squadron is in C-2 Routine Training Dress. 

Reference for common equivalent orders of dress:

Squadron Wear

Personnel wearing squadron wear shall adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Grooming, jewelry, and makeup shall be IAW CAF Dress Instructions or CJCR Dress Instructions, as applicable
  • Clothing shall be clean and professional in appearance (i.e. not to reveal undergarments, tops must meet bottoms, proper fit)
  • Tops: a squadron golf shirt or equivalent polo-style shirt with a knit cardigan or pullover sweater
  • Bottoms: chino-style pants, crops, culottes, capris, or a skirt in subdued colours (ex. Black, navy blue, khaki, brown, grey, etc.)
  • Shoes: comfortable dress shoes in a dark colour (flat or heeled is acceptable)

Athletic Clothing

Personnel wearing athletic clothing shall adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Grooming, jewelry, and makeup shall be IAW CAF Dress Instructions or CJCR Dress Instructions, as applicable
  • Clothing shall be clean and professional in appearance (i.e. not to reveal undergarments, tops must meet bottoms, proper fit)
  • Clothing shall be athletic-purpose clothing (no jeans, dress clothing, open-toed shoes)
  • Long hair shall be tied back in a ponytail, braid, or bun
  • Tops: short or long-sleeved athletic t-shirt and/or athletic sweater
  • Bottoms: athletic pants or shorts
  • Shoes: athletic footwear such as running shoes, cross trainers, basketball shoes, etc. 

Civilian Clothing

Personnel wearing civilian clothing shall adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Grooming, jewelry, and makeup shall be IAW CAF Dress Instructions or CJCR Dress Instructions, as applicable
  • Clothing shall be clean and professional in appearance (i.e. not to reveal undergarments, tops must meet bottoms, proper fit)
  • Clothing shall reflect credit on the individual, the squadron, and the Cadet Program (no inappropriate images or slogans)
  • Clothing and footwear shall be appropriate for the weather and activity
