COURSE DESCRIPTIONS AND ELIGIBILITY 

  • Cadets can only take one course at a time. You cannot take a 2 week course at the same time as a 2 week course.
  • Cadets may apply for multiple courses. However, there are limited billets, so list your top 3 choices on the application.
  • Selections may occur up to 1 week prior to the course start date.
  • All cadets selected or on standby will receive a Cadet 365 account. It is important that the Administration Officer has your correct individual email address and contact information (cannot be shared).  You must have a phone number for authentication purposes.
  • Age is based on course start date.
  • Level completed is the training level you are in now (and will complete before end of year)
  • Older cadets or higher level cadets are not precluded from taking junior courses.
  • If you select a course for which you are not eligible (For example: a level 1 cadet asking for Advanced Aviation), the summer training officer may substitute for a more appropriate course (For example: Basic Aviation).
  • There is some flexibility with age and level for older cadets who are applying to junior courses. (For example: a 17 year old cadet is permitted to apply for Airport Operations).

Introduction to Marksmanship (ITM) Course

The Introduction to Marksmanship Course enables cadets to acquire specialized skills and knowledge in marksmanship, facilitating their participation in zone and regional marksmanship competitions. It equips them to mentor junior cadets in marksmanship while advancing the skills learned in the program.

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue marksmanship training.

Introduction to Drill and Ceremonial (ITDC) Course

The Introduction to Drill and Ceremonial Course engages cadets with the chance to enhance their leadership abilities and deepen their knowledge and skills in drill and ceremonial practices acquired in the program.

Length: 2 Weeks

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue drill training.

Introduction to Fitness and Sports (ITFS) Course

The Introduction to Fitness and Sports Course offers cadets a chance to refine skills acquired in the Corps/Squadron Program, aiding in fitness and sports training within the Corps/Squadron Program. Additionally, participants learn about embracing a healthy lifestyle.

Length: 2 Weeks

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, and have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue fitness training.

Aviation Technology and Aerospace (ATA) Course

The Aviation Technology and Aerospace Course offers cadets the chance to lay the groundwork in aerospace studies, airport operations, and the principles of aircraft manufacturing and maintenance. Activities within this program encompass exploring aerospace concepts, learning about aerodrome operations, and gaining insight into aircraft manufacturing and maintenance processes.

Length: 2 Weeks

Prerequisites: Must be medically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue aviation training.

Introduction to Survival (ITS) Course

The Introduction to Survival Course allows cadets to cultivate essential aircrew survival skills. Activities involve practical field training and navigation exercises to enhance survival proficiency.

Length: 2 Weeks

Prerequisites: Must be medically fit, have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun, and be motivated to pursue survival training.

Introduction to Military Band (ITMB) Course

The Introduction to Military Band Course allows cadets to continue honing their understanding and proficiency in music, drill, ceremonial practices, and leadership skills acquired through the corps/squadron program or regional activities

Length: 2 Weeks

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, and have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun.

Introduction to Pipe Band (ITPB) Course

The Introduction to Pipe Band Course allows cadets to continue honing their understanding and proficiency in music, drill, ceremonial practices, and leadership skills acquired through the corps/squadron program or regional activities.

Length: 2 Weeks

Prerequisites: Must be medically and physically fit, and have completed Proficiency Level Two training by 30 Jun.
